J-B Labrune & Martin De Bie

Jean-Baptiste Labrune is research affiliate at the MIT Medialab. His research aims at developing Creativity Research Tools (CRT) that allow artists and scientists to document and explore their own creative processes. He is particularly interested in Exaptive Innovation, Art & Science collaborations and the future of Playful cultures.

 

Born in Paris, France, Martin De Bie graduated in 2008 from ESADSE design school in Saint Etienne with a Masters in Design. He then joined the research department of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (EnsadLab) in 2009 to teach courses on physical computing and interaction design while pursuing his researches on hybrid materials - intertwining traditional techniques with high-tech processes. In parallel, Martin participated in the launch of the parisian office of Graffiti Research Lab where he developed a sensitive and experimental approach to design, combining interaction technologies to avant-garde urban socio-cultural practices.
